Your personal statement is an opportunity to show us what motivates you, what you’ve learned so far, and why you’re ready to take the next step. Here’s a clear, step-by-step guide to help you write a strong, authentic statement. 

1. Start with Your Why

Your personal statement should help the university (or future employer) understand:

• Why you’re interested in the subject
• What experiences or skills you have that relate to it
• What you hope to do in the future

    2. Showcase Relevant Achievements

Provide concrete examples of your academic strengths and relevant experiences. Include projects, internships, or extracurricular activities that relate to the course, demonstrating how they have developed your skills and prepared you for university-level study.

     3. Go Beyond Academics 

The Academic Board wants to see more than just your academic results. They want to understand you on a personal level too.  Use this space to share your values, passion, and what makes you unique. Talk about any obstacles you’ve faced, how you handled them, and what those experiences taught you about yourself.
